DIY Project Board

Earlier in the week, I mentioned I was working on a project board for my craft room. I bought this magnetic board more than a year ago and really haven't been that motivated to use it. Let's face it, all of us artsy, crafty people do better when we're surrounded by pretty things.

Before

After

'Create' to jot down all the projects I'm working on or need to get done. 'Blog' for listing blog ideas as they come to me and a calendar so I can mark deadlines and really just know what day it is! (It's a little embarrassing how often I don't know what day it is!)

I had planned on doing a tutorial but unless you actually have the same magnetic board (from Ikea), the measurements would have been off. But I will fill you in a bit on my process.

All of the graphics are actually clip art that I edited thanks to this tutorial by Dana from MADE. I am beyond grateful for that tutorial because I am SO Photoshop stupid, it's not even funny. The clipart I used was from Clip Art Corner and Kylie Healey Designs.

Once I figured out the images I wanted to use and edited them, I printed them all out on paper and cut them out.

I got on Pinterest to find a free printable calendar for 2013. There are many, but I chose this one by Love v. Design.

Then I laminated everything so I'd be able to write and erase with dry erase markers!

Once that was done, I used a dry erase pen to make markings on the board where everything was going to go. Then I added magnets to the back of each laminated piece. And voila! A pretty new project/ idea board!

See? I'm already more organized than I was in 2012! :)
